1. About obid

obid is an online auction and marketplace platform operated by OBID LIMITED in the United Kingdom, registered in England and Wales under company number 17180080, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the obid website and services. By creating an account or using obid in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use obid.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to register and use obid.
• You must be a resident of the United Kingdom or have the legal right to enter into contracts under UK law.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep that information up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. obid is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account.

3. Buying on obid

When you place a bid or use the Buy It Now option, you are entering into a legally binding agreement to purchase the item if your bid is successful or your purchase is confirmed. You agree to:

• Pay the full agreed price promptly upon purchase confirmation.
• Provide accurate delivery information.
• Not retract a bid once placed unless a valid reason applies under UK consumer law.
• Treat sellers fairly and communicate professionally.

obid is not a party to the transaction between buyer and seller. Any dispute regarding item condition, delivery, or payment must first be resolved between the parties directly.

Where obid checkout and payouts are enabled, payment processing and connected account services are provided through Stripe Connect Express. By using these payment features, buyers and sellers also agree to any applicable Stripe terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement.

Automotive listings are treated as classified vehicle ads. Payment for Automotive sales is arranged directly between buyer and seller (typically cash on collection), and Automotive transactions are excluded from obid Buyer Protection.

4. Selling on obid

As a seller on obid you agree to:

• List only items you own and have the legal right to sell.
• Provide accurate, honest, and complete descriptions including any defects.
• Honour all completed sales. Cancelling a confirmed sale without good reason may result in account suspension.
• Dispatch items promptly once payment is confirmed.
• Pay all applicable seller fees as set out in Section 6.

obid reserves the right to remove any listing that breaches these terms or applicable law.

5. Prohibited Items

The following must not be listed on obid under any circumstances:

• Counterfeit, stolen, or illegal goods.
• Weapons, ammunition, or anything regulated under UK firearms law.
• Drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
• Adult content or items of a sexually explicit nature.
• Hazardous materials or items prohibited from postal delivery.
• Items that infringe intellectual property rights.
• Animals or animal parts protected under CITES or UK wildlife law.
• Anything that is otherwise unlawful to sell or possess in the UK.

Listings found to breach this section will be removed immediately and the account suspended or permanently banned without notice. obid may also report the matter to the relevant authorities.

6. Fees

• Auction insertion fee: Zero.
• Standard seller commission on completed non-Automotive sales: 10%.
• Shop owner commission on completed non-Automotive sales: 8%.
• Shop subscription fee: Current monthly fee.
• Featured listing upgrade: £5.00.
• Reserve price fee: £2.00.
• Automotive classified ads: No sales commission and no fixed sale surcharge. Optional featured and reserve fees may still apply.
• Automotive listing cap (vehicle classifieds): non-shop sellers can create up to 2 Automotive listings per calendar month. Active shop owners are not subject to this Automotive cap.
• General non-shop listing cap (all categories): standard non-shop sellers may be limited to 20 listings per calendar month unless they open a shop.
• obid reserves the right to amend the fee structure with notice to existing users where required.

The figures shown in this section reflect the current fee(s) applicable on this platform.

7. Feedback & Reviews

obid includes a feedback system to help build trust between buyers and sellers. You agree to:

• Leave only honest, factual feedback based on your genuine transaction experience.
• Not attempt to manipulate feedback scores through fake accounts or coercion.
• Not use the feedback system to make defamatory, abusive, or otherwise unlawful statements.

obid reserves the right to remove feedback that violates these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the obid platform - including the logo, design, code, and copy - is the intellectual property of obid and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.

By uploading images or content to obid, you grant obid a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform for the purpose of facilitating your listing.

To report copyright infringement, counterfeit goods, or other unlawful listing content, use our Content Removal Requests process on the Contact page.

9. Privacy

Your use of obid is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using obid, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• obid is a marketplace platform and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of items listed.
• Automotive sales are completed at the buyer's and seller's own risk, including any vehicle condition checks and direct payment arrangements made between them.
• obid shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.
• obid's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount of fees paid by you to obid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, as required by UK law.

11. Account Termination

obid reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that:

• Breaches these Terms & Conditions.
• Engages in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
• Repeatedly receives negative feedback or complaint reports.

You may close your account at any time by contacting obid support. Outstanding obligations (e.g. active auctions or unpaid fees) must be resolved before closure.

12. Changes to These Terms

obid may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice on the platform. Continued use of obid after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
