Payout Schedule
Seller payouts are typically released within 5 working days after the order has been marked as dispatched, provided payment has cleared and there are no active issues on the transaction.
Where enabled, seller payment accounts and payout processing are provided via Stripe Connect Express. Timing may be affected by Stripe processing windows, account status, compliance checks, or reserve and risk controls.
When payout release begins
Processing usually begins once dispatch has been confirmed in the order record. Buyer receipt confirmation may help support the order journey, but it is not required for the standard payout window to begin.
Why timing can vary
Bank processing times, weekends, public holidays, high-value transactions, compliance reviews, or open disputes may extend the release window.
- Payouts are only issued for completed sales where buyer payment has been successfully received.
- Orders with refund requests, chargebacks, disputes, delivery concerns, or missing dispatch information may be placed on temporary hold while the matter is reviewed and resolved.
- If funds have already been released and a later dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour, the relevant amount may be recovered from the seller account balance or offset against future payouts. obid will review the case and the available evidence before making any adjustment.
- Standard sellers can request payouts from £40. Requests below £40 remain available but include a £2 small-payout fee. Active shop owners use a £20 minimum before the same £2 fee is applied.
- For collection orders or hand-delivered items, payout timing may begin once the order has been appropriately confirmed in the system.
- Where additional verification is required, obid may request supporting details before releasing funds.
- Stripe may require additional seller verification information at onboarding or later if account monitoring rules are triggered.
- Once a payout has been released by obid, your payment provider may require additional time for funds to appear in your account.
Order status icons and dispatch timing
These are the same progress icons sellers see in the account area. Keeping them updated helps buyers understand where the order is and helps payout processing start on time.
Sold
The listing has completed successfully and an order has been created for the buyer.
Paid
Payment has cleared on the order. Dispatch should only happen after the order shows as paid.
Dispatched
Mark this only when the parcel has actually been handed to the courier, collected, or formally arranged for handover.
Delivered
The buyer confirms receipt. This is helpful for the full order trail, but standard payout timing does not wait for this step.
Seller tip: the icon changes to orange when that step has been completed in the order journey. Do not mark an order as dispatched when it is only packed or labelled. Update it once the item is genuinely on its way, and add tracking details where available.

How Competitor Fee Estimates Are Calculated
Any eBay or Amazon figures shown on obid are indicative comparisons only. They are not live quotes from those marketplaces and they do not represent legal, tax, advertising, fulfilment, subscription, VAT, or account-specific advice.
- obid calculates competitor estimates using a simple model: estimated fee = sale price multiplied by a configured percentage fee, plus a configured fixed fee.
- These settings are maintained by obid for comparison purposes and may be updated when published marketplace pricing changes.
- The estimate does not automatically include optional services, promoted listing charges, fulfilment fees, category-specific exceptions, international selling charges, VAT treatment, or seller-plan subscriptions unless explicitly stated.
- Actual fees on other marketplaces can vary by category, seller status, fulfilment method, promotions, account terms, and policy changes.
- Sellers should always verify current fees directly on the relevant marketplace before making a business decision based on a comparison.
Where obid shows a savings message such as —you keep more than eBay estimate—, that message is based on this comparison model and your current sale-price estimate inside the listing form.
